Du är här: About us Transnational EU funded projects

BTP

The Frans Schartau Business Institute is one of four partners in the transnational EU funded project Baltic Training Programme (BTP).

The project supports internationalization of post secondary Vocational Educational Training programs (VET) through mobility based
traineeship as well as cross-border entrepreneurship. The area of operations is Estonia, Latvia and the mid-eastern part of Sweden,
including the counties of Stockholm, Uppsala, Gävleborg, Västmanland, Örebro, Södermanland, Östergötland och Gotland. BTP will
be finalised in May 2012.

The project is initiated by the Norden Association, an association who supports cross-border cooperation between the Nordic countries as well as the baltic countries. The Frans Schartau Business Institutes main focus within the BTP is to carry out the student exchange as well as to coordinate the project with the business sector. In addition to this Frans Schartau Business Institute is also responsible to disseminate the project to VET providers within the region.

BTP is divided into two parts:

  1. A testing model where VET students and their co-operation project ideas are matched with host-companies in another country.
To start with the students participate in a one week preparatory education followed by three weeks internship abroad at the host-companies.
Both parties, students and companies are offered coaching in order to support the development of joint co-operation projects.
  2. Organisation of seven stakeholder seminars for target groups such as providers of VET, companies, politicians and civil servants
involved in VET. The seminars will discuss relevant topics in order to identify needed actions in order to support internationalisation
of VET and cross-border entrepreneurship in the Central Baltic region.

The Programme is mainly financed by the Central Baltic INTERREG IV A
Programme 2007-2013 with important contributions from the Stockholm County Administration and the four partners operating the
Programme namely the Norden Association and Frans Schartau Business Institute (City of Stockholm) in Sweden, Narva Vocational Training Centre
in Estonia and the Vidzeme Planning Region in Latvia. In order to get more information about the project or to apply for participation
