Your future in the hotel industry
Are you interested in a responsible position specialising in service, finance, leadership, marketing, staff and administration? Then hotel management is the career for you.
This course provides a good basis for a future career within the hotel and conference sector and you will also have good potential to work within other parts of the tourism industry. After four terms of full-time studies, you will be qualified to work as, for instance, a reception manager at a
hotel, a conference manager at a study centre, a finance or marketing manager at a large hotel or as a salesperson for a hotel chain.
Good prospects
The Swedish tourism industry has grown considerably over the past ten years and the number of job opportunities within the industry has risen by around 25 per cent. In our assessment, there will continue to be a good demand for trained staff from the hotel industry owing to travel growing in both scope and complexity. The industry has shown a considerable interest in the
course and the need for new employees is continuously increasing as more and more hotels open.
Everything you need
This two-year programme will provide you with a sound learning base with a major emphasis on computers, finance and leadership.
Close collaboration with the business sector is a recurring theme throughout the course. One third of the four terms is spent on WPT – Work Place Vocational – at a hotel or conference centre. Study visits and guest lecturers from the hotel and tourism industry comprise key components of
the course.
